Still feeling burned-out by last week’s engine troubles, I decided to spend one more day working on things other than my boat. I am really wanting to get this blog out there. There are so many people that are interested in my exploits and have been trying to figure out what’s going on with me and why I’ve stopped, but I simply don’t have time to address all of them directly. I really value the connections and felt that a blog was the best and quickest way to keep everyone informed of what was going on with me. Of course, I still welcome direct contact, but with the blog I hopefully won’t have to repeat the same story to different people all the time. Plus, hopefully, the photos will make things a bit more interesting and real. (I am also realizing that I must get in the habit of taking more photos!)
I wanted to get a good start on the day, so took my yoga mat with me to the esplanade and knocked out some yoga then some core exercises. It felt good to be able to do my yoga routine unencumbered. It has been challenging trying to do stretching in the confines of my boat. There is no single flat surface big enough to stretch out my mat (or myself), and so have to constantly shift myself in different directions to stretch effectively. Not a huge deal, but it was nice to not have to worry about that and have as much room as I needed.

Then I headed back to the coffee shop with the hope of getting the blog finished enough to finally publish it. I was lost with the WordPress software when I first started a week or so ago until my son, Alek, jumped in to help me get it up and running. He’s a computer natural and was able to set things up and talk me through them very quickly. I wanted to at least get in the beginning couple of days and what has happened recently with my engine problems before publishing. That way people could understand what I was doing in general, and also why I was stuck in Daytona. From that point I could keep up with my current situation while going back and filling in the holes before Daytona.
And I had success! By early afternoon that was up and running and I put the word out to everyone I could think of. Now I don’t have to post things on multiple social media sites, but have a central place to record what’s happening with me.
I spent the afternoon accomplishing the much needed bath of Serendipity. I’ve been remiss in cleaning her over the past few months because of all the other, more-pressing projects. And two weeks “at sea” and in the active salt water environment had only added to the need. And it showed. Lots of surface rust on my stainless steel components, and just generally dirty overall. So, I spent a few hours rinsing, cleaning, and polishing and feel much better about her, now.
I spent some time in the evening reconnecting with some friends and taking another “real” shower.
