A Rainy Day in E-City

We had a cold front come through last night/this morning so it rained most of the day today.

I had been wanting to unpack and test the generator, but that would have to wait until tomorrow. Instead, I took advantage of the weather by cleaning up the inside of the boat, taking a shower, hitting a local coffee shop to catch up on my blog, and then visiting the Museum of the Albermarle, which was a couple of blocks away.

Museum of the Albermarle (on a nicer day).

The weather after the cold front was supposed to be mild (mid-70’s) and dry, which will be wonderful! Except that there were supposed to be some nights where the temps got down into the low 50’s! What? That is not what I bargained for! In fact, temps-in-the-50’s was going to be my boundary–the no-go temperature range that I would always try to stay ahead of. Below 60’s temps were supposed to happen in November or perhaps mid-October on a cold year up here. Am I going to have to turn around and head south already?

Fortunately, the weather forecasters are assuring us that his is just a fluke–autumn weather in the beginning of September. I’ve been repeatedly told by many that I will see temperatures back in the 80’s before September is over. Well…..okaaaaay. I do not like the cold, got rid of almost all my cold weather clothes, and have only two pair of jeans with me. One of the reasons for choosing this lifestyle was so that I could migrate with the mild weather.

By late afternoon, the skies were clearing and downtown E-City became beautiful again. There wasn’t enough time to play around with the generator, but I was able to do yoga and get in a quick chest/back workout in the park next to my boat. I also headed back over to Seven Sounds Brewery in the evening for a beer and more live music. Nothing much else to report.
